Memphis Wrestling: Class of '77
Star Wars may have ruled the box office in the summer of '77, but it was the stars of Memphis Wrestling who lit up my imagination with the most colorful, charismatic performers of the era.
From the King to the Superstar to Handsome Jimmy to Paul Orndorff to Rocky Johnson to yes, even Dr. Franik, the Memphis territory had something for everybody, highlighted by the red-hot feud between Jerry Lawler and Bill Dundee, and the emergence of the Boy From New York City.
As depicted by artist Travis Heckel, the Class of '77 also includes the super-smooth team of Hickerson & Condrey; the pride of Marietta, Ga, Bob Armstrong; and Tennessee's own Tommy "Wildfire" Rich; with Lance Russell and Dave Brown right along ringside and ready to go with another BIG day of Championship Wrestling.
Relive those thrilling mornings and nights of yesterday, featuring two new colors here at Memphis Wrestling Tees, Heather Black and Heather Midnight Navy, printed on a vintage soft Premium Bella + Canvas 3001 T-shirt.
